New footbridge, Bridgend railway station
Opened in 2012, the new footbridge can be accessed via lifts or stairs. The 2.4 million improvement project was part of the national Access for All scheme, backed by the Department for Transport, that aims to provide step-free access to about 145 railway stations in England, Scotland and Wales.
The new footbridge and two lifts were designed to provide passengers with a safe and secure environment. They are well-lit and equipped with telephones and CCTV monitoring.
