NT3012 : Extraction lane, Phenzhopehaugh Hill

taken 11 years ago, 3 km from Buccleuch, Scottish Borders, Great Britain

Extraction lane, Phenzhopehaugh Hill
Extraction lane, Phenzhopehaugh Hill
This block has been recently thinned. Rows of trees have been removed leaving room for the remainder to grow. Thinning also provides income from the block prior to harvesting. Lanes like this can provide a means of progress, but have a nasty habit of reaching an unthinned area deep inside the forest.
