NY2322 : Frosted fields beside Newlands Beck

Frosted fields beside Newlands Beck
Frosted fields beside Newlands Beck
A footpath follows the levee on the east side of Newlands Beck from which this image was recorded. The levee can be seen at the extreme left edge of the frame. It's clear that in a flood these fields would be inundated without the embankment which protects just this side of the beck; a slope rises gently but immediately on the west side and any flooding effect would be very limited. The snowed mountain group is of course Skiddaw.
