Waterworks Cottage
Waterworks Cottage
This grade II listed (LinkExternal link British Listed Buildings) house on Belmont Road overlooks Springs Reservoir. It was built in 1824 for Bolton Corporation Waterworks.

The front gable end contains a relief plaque which shows a seated female figure pouring water into a vessel held by a child, below which are the words:
BOLTON WATERWORKS
ESTABLISHED AD1824

The design is echoed by a larger plaque on the wall adjoining the road.
