St Joseph's Catholic Church, Stonehouse
The church is at the eastern end of Oldends Lane, near the Gloucester Road junction. It was built in the 1960s.
St Joseph's dates its history from 1894, when Mass was celebrated once a fortnight in a Mass Centre in a rented room in Stonehouse. Before the First World War the congregation was only about a dozen.

Later, the Mass Centre moved to a converted outbuilding near Eastington and then to the Subscription Rooms in Stonehouse. St Joseph's was part of Stroud parish until 1973 when it became a separate parish. The present-day congregation is about 130 parishioners.
