NO2579 : Larch woods, Bacnagairn

taken 5 years ago, 4 km from Glas-Allt-Shiel, Aberdeenshire, Great Britain

Larch woods, Bacnagairn
Larch woods, Bacnagairn
The edge of what was a large larch plantation around Bachnagairn Lodge (now ruined). The trees are old and there is a lot of dead fallen timber and little sign of regeneration. Across the South Esk, an area was fenced during the 1980s and that is now a dense woodland with many young larches.
