Crinkle Crags is best known viewed from Great Langdale where it's seen as a series of knolls to the left (south) of Bow Fell. The path used to traverse the mountain reaches a 'mauvais pas' at The Bad Step where a few simple climbing moves need to be made - as in most cases, easier in ascent than descent. A climber is seen on the Bad Step, ascending.
