The foreground is the site of the former Birmingham Battery and Metal Company works and also included the Dudley No. 2 (Lapal) canal. The university is in the distance. The building left of the pylon is the biological sciences building (formerly biochemistry), The tall modern tower is the Muirhead Tower and the clock tower is the Chamberlain tower. The domes are on the Aston Webb Building.
