TQ2290 : Spitfire & Hurricane, RAF Museum, Hendon

Spitfire & Hurricane, RAF Museum, Hendon
The two great British fighters of the Battle of Britain. The more glamorous Spitfire on the left can be distinguished from the humbler Hurricane by its more elliptically pointed wings and its blister cockpit {not visible in this photo} compared to the Hurricane's multi-paned version. Though the Spitfire is the plane that everyone associates with "The Few", the Hurricane actually downed considerably more Nazi planes - not least because there were a lot more of them in service.
Behind can be seen a factory which forms part of the RAF museum.
