Kilchrist Chapel (now Mausoleum) and Burial Ground
I have more than a passing interest in this place as many of my ancestors lie buried here. The building is marked on the map as Gilchrist but the category B, Historic Scotland Building ID: 14037 lists it as per my title. The chapel is medieval and was the site of an infamous massacre in 1603.

It consisted of the merciless burning of a whole congregation of the Mackenzies by the Macdonells of Glengarry, whose piper marched round the building, mocking the shrieks of its hapless inmates with the pibroch since known under the name of 'Kilchrist'.

Records of burials in the kirkyard can be obtained from the Highland Family History Society, Inverness.
