NN2245 : West ridge, Stob Ghabhar

taken 11 years ago, near to Sr?n a' Ghearrain [hill or Mountain], Highland, Great Britain

West ridge, Stob Ghabhar
West ridge, Stob Ghabhar
Looking west towards Sron a' Ghearrain as cloud moves in below. A bit more erosion of the granite here by glaciers and Sron a' Ghearrain would be an independent peak. Two corries have almost met, if they do so they leave a pyramidal peak. The ridge is quite narrow between Coire Ghabhar (left) and Coire a' Chaolain, (right). The narrow but easy ridge still carries a snow arete after a big thaw earlier in the week.
