SN1743 : Castell Nantperchellan

taken 11 years ago, near to Pen-y-Bryn, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro, Great Britain

Castell Nantperchellan
Castell Nantperchellan
The rocky hillock above the farmyard has been described in The Gatehouse Gazetteer of Medieval Fortifications as:

"A roughly rectangular promontory enclosure, with a bank and ditch to the N and E, whilst steep natural slopes complete the circuit on the S and w sides. Thought to be either a medieval earthwork castle or an Iron Age defended enclosure."

Unfortunately there seems to be no public access. A farm of the same name stands below, to the right of this picture.
