Cliffe Bridge
Cliffe Bridge
There has been a crossing point over the river here since the Romans forded it. A bridge had appeared by the middle ages and the suburb of Cliffe was a thriving community. Now pedestrianised having once been the main A27 trunk road through the town. The Argos building on the right hand side occupies the site of the Bridge Hotel burnt down in a fire.
