The fragile - looking silver birches withstood the storms of January 2007 much better than their stouter neighbours, the pines. For more information about the effects of the storms on Sherwood Pines Forest Park, where around 70,000 trees in total came down, see SK6063 : Storm damage, Sherwood Pines and LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) .
