SN0536 : February frogspawn

taken 11 years ago, near to Cilgwyn, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro, Great Britain

February frogspawn
February frogspawn
Not the earliest I've seen this year by any means but at 300metres or so I'm always surprised that frogs are here at all. The spawn will probably enter the food chain before it can develop very far. This tiny shallow pool could certainly not support several thousand tadpoles and may dry up entirely as the year progresses.
