Dunfermline Abbey - south side and buttresses
Dunfermline Abbey - south side and buttresses
The massive buttresses support the 12thC nave, which is empty but starkly interesting. The eastern addition, the Abbey Church, in lighter stone dates from 1821, and the four sides of the crown of the tower read 'KING ROBERT THE BRUCE', the first and last words are seen more clearly in NT0987 : Abbey Church, Dunfermline.
