Croome Court viewed across Croome River
Croome Court was built for the 6th Earl of Coventry in the 1750s and 60s replacing an earlier house on the same site. The house remained in the family until it was sold in the 1940s. In December 2007, the court was purchased by the Croome Heritage Trust and in conjunction with the National Trust they aim to eventually open the court to the public. On the bank in the background is Croome D'Abitot church which was built at the same time as the court. The church replaced an earlier church which was situated near the site of the court and was demolished at the time the court was built in the mid eighteenth century.
