Road junction, King John Bank, Walpole Marsh
The road is called King John Bank. The legend has it that King John's baggage train was caught while crossing the treacherous marshes which lay hereabouts in the thirteenth century, losing his treasure, which he carried about for safe keeping. Cynics say he had sold or melted the treasure down to pay his bills, and invented the story. No matter what, he was dead a few weeks after the alleged incident.
