This photograph of Lady Spencer’s Wood was taken from a footpath that runs eastward through the wood from near Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire, to the end of Newbound Lane in Nottinghamshire.
For part of the way this footpath also carries a new route called Lady Spencer’s Walk. Those following the walk will continue ahead (easterly) until a short flight of steps is reached. At the bottom of the steps Lady Spencer’s Walk turns left (northerly, into the woodland) while the original path continues toward Newbound Lane.
