SU2110 : Broomy Pond, Broomy Plain, New Forest

Broomy Pond, Broomy Plain, New Forest
Broomy Pond, Broomy Plain, New Forest
This pond looks to have been artificially created with an embankment across the head of a valley leading down into Broomy Bottom. The downstream side of the pond is fenced off, presumably to stop commoners' stock from trying to drink from the steep-sided bank on this side. This pond is un-named on the OS maps, but might logically be called Broomy Pond since it is on Broomy Plain to the south of Broomy Lodge and Broomy Inclosure, above Broomy Bottom.
