GPS Survey at Weir Dyke Bridge
GPS Survey at Weir Dyke Bridge
Photo taken at Weir Dyke bridge SE9713 : Weir Dike Bridge. The signpost in the background marks the footpath along the bank of the New River Ancholme. The Surveyor was with a group checking water levels in nearby drains. He had established a datum on the bridge using GPS (8 satellites) and this gave me an opportunity to check my Etrex, which uses 4 satellites, against his professional equipment. The difference was less than 1m - my Etrex was showing 20ft accuracy at the time. For a close-up of the survey gear see SE9713 : GPS Survey Equipment at Weir Dyke Bridge.
