SD4487 : Larch, Wakebarrow

taken 11 years ago, near to The Howe, Cumbria, Great Britain

Larch, Wakebarrow
Larch, Wakebarrow
The Larch has been ring barked thus killing the tree. There are several Larches nearby which have suffered the same fate. I imagine this is to manage these non native species within this Nature Reserve. The dead trees provide a good habitat for wildlife.
