The Stockport and district water board supplies a population of 330 000 within the county borough of stockport. The urban districts of Alderley Edge, Bredbury and Romiley, Cheadle and Gatley, Hazel Grove and Bramhall, Marple, New Mills, Whaley Bridge and Wilmslow and the rural district of Disley. The average daily quantity of water supplied is 17 million gallons the combined daily yield of the Goyt valley source is 6 million gallons
