taken 6 years ago, near to Napton on The Hill, Warwickshire, Great Britain

Napton Bottom Lock No 8
Napton Bottom Lock No 8
The bottom end of the Napton Flight of 9 locks that raises the canal up 49'1"
On the Southern Oxford canal near the village of Napton on the Hill.
In the middle distance can be seen the next lock in the flight being Napton Lock No 9.
We are filling the lock up ready to take our boat in, the water level is very high as there had been a thunderstorm with torrential rain earlier in the day.

The Folly Pub is just to the North of this, the pub, as well as serving food & drink, also has a small shop for essentials .

The countryside around is mixed farmland.
