This row of 19th century granite cottages was originally built for lighthouse keepers and their families, the lighthouse men using boats from the island jetty to reach remote lighthouses such as Dubh Artach and Skerryvore. Now part of an island community which is associated with that at Findhorn on the Moray coast.
