Cowie chapel. St Mary's of the Storms.
Cowie chapel. St Mary's of the Storms.
An ancient chapel and kirkyard sitting on the top of the cliffs overlooking the North Sea. There is a morthouse in the kirkyard dating from the early 1800s.This immensely strong building was used to store corpses under lock and key until they were too corrupt to be of interest to the local graverobbers who supplied the anatomy schools in Aberdeen.
