Pathside pond at Binchester
The long-abandoned Clarence Railway opened 1837, ran between Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland. The trackbed has now been converted into the Auckland Way LinkExternal link , an attractive path for walkers and cyclists. A series of channels and ponds has been cut alongside the path to ensure proper drainage.
