SD7971 : Moughton

taken 11 years ago, near to Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Looking north along the wall that runs the length of Moughton limestone pavements. Grouse butts to the left (not visible in this photo) indicate that the heather seen here in places over the limestone was once good cover for birds. It appears that they have not been used for some years and the grouse shooting seems to have moved across the valley to Penyghent; leaving this stunning scenery to the walkers.
