The John Buchan Way
The John Buchan Way
The footpath seen here is at the Broughton (western) end of the 13-mile long John Buchan Way between Peebles and Broughton. The route was opened in 2003 and is named after the author John Buchan, later Lord Tweedsmuir, who was appointed Governor-General of Canada in 1935. The cottage shown in this photo is the Shepherd's Cottage also illustrated here: NT1137 : Shepherds Cottage, while Broughton Place NT1137 : Broughton Place can just be made out in the trees beyond.
