Gate and electric fences
Gate and electric fences
The hills around the Glansie Burn are well provisioned by electric fences which belt you even in winter when there are no stock about. The good news is that there are frequent crossing places like this, where you can open a spring "gate" with an insulated handle. The electric fences are no problem to negotiate, unlike some of the high deer fences that are more usually found.

The path is little used, but once would have been a useful route out of the glen, being a quicker exit to the lowlands than following the glen itself.

Warning: The fences sometimes are not so well endowed with crossing places. Sometimes they can be few and very far apart. They have reached plague proportions on the Braes of Angus and routes should be checked for their presence. Hopefully this site will build up a catalogue of crossings.
