The fine view westwards from the summit of Cruach Mhor (933m) to Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntoohil (1040m, centre) with Caher (990m) just to the left and Beenkeragh (1010m) to the right. The upper lochan is Lough Gouragh and the lower is Lough Callee. Although some cloud came in later in the day, it didn't spoil a first-class hill day in traversing these peaks.
Corrán Tuathail = left-handed sickle (or possibly left-handed bent thing in general). Make of that what you will.
It is the highest mountain in Ireland and you get a very good view from the top.
There is an enormous great iron cross up there dragged up by hand. It replaces an earlier and smaller iron cross taken up by one man on his own (perhaps it was two men, I can't remember).
