GeoGraph - photograph every grid square

One weekday in Autumn 2006 I was passing through the area on the A1 and decided to pull off and have a rest and a packed lunch at the Wansford Picnic Area TL 077 995. I had my camera handy and was planning to get a picture as well.

Before long I started to notice some unusual activity and I think the likeliest explanation was that it is an illicit meeting place for men who wish to meet other men in private…(this is a family site so I will keep this bit euphemistic)

I didn’t take any pictures, guessing that under the circumstances people would probably resent being identified and that any attempt at photography would provoke trouble. Of all the places I have been while Geographing, this was the only one that’s ever made me feel uneasy. I must say I felt distinctly uncomfortable whilst there and I don’t plan to return.

I’m not local to Peterborough so I wouldn’t have known about this place’s reputation in advance – I thought I’d better warn the rest of our members that this is not a good place to stop or take photos.
