The River Weaver flows broadly north-south through the west of Nantwich, separating the Welsh Row area from the centre. The river is still somewhat swollen after the snow earlier in February 2007. The grade-II-listed stone bridge dates from the early 19th century; for more information see: Link. The backs of houses on Welsh Row are visible to the left of the river. A plaque is located at this spot, commemorating four centuries since the Great Fire of Nantwich, which started near this location; see SJ6452 : The Great Fire of Nantwich
