The sad tale of the Wrenbury Church Bridge
This is the site of the grade-II*-listed Wrenbury Church Bridge, a wooden lift bridge by Thomas Telford portrayed in this image of 2004: SJ5948 : Bridge "Wrenbury Lift #2". The bridge was vandalised in 2005/6, and the remains were lying in the grass in summer 2006. Now there's nothing to be seen but the repair job. The other two Telford bridges to the west are still operational
