St. Peter & St. Paul's church
St. Peter & St. Paul's church
This must be in Suffolk's top 10 churches. It has a splendid tower, rising 101ft, and covered by wonderful panelled flushwork. Parts of the church date back to the 13th century, but most of what is seen today is due to a rebuild during the 15th century that was financed by John de la Pole. It is best approached from the north, down Church Street, where you can fully appreciate the tower's splendour. A view from the castle is also essential.
