St Mary's Island Whitley Bay
St Mary's Island Whitley Bay
Originally Bates Island, well known to smugglers. Trinity House built the existing Lighthouse in 1897, a well known landmark to travellers from across the world. It no longer works as a lighthouse, BUT is well maintained & externally floodlight and remains our Iconic trademark & tourist attraction.
