ST3121 : Path down Crimson Hill

taken 11 years ago, near to Wrantage, Somerset, Great Britain

Path down Crimson Hill
Path down Crimson Hill
This is the precipitous (and very slippery) footpath referred to in ST3121 : Crimson Hill, which plunges down the Lias scarp slope below the Vickers machine gun pillbox seen in ST3122 : Crimson Hill. The path continues straight ahead through the trees (close to where the Chard canal emerges from its tunnel), following the track to the left of Higher Wrantage Farm. Wrantage is the cluster of buildings to the left of this; beyond are farms at Lillesdon, with the disused canal following a curve amid trees on the right.
