NT8244 : The flatlands of the Merse

The flatlands of the Merse
The flatlands of the Merse
This is one of the flatter corners of Scotland, between the Lammermuir and Cheviot Hills. However the action of glaciers in the last ice age has left a series of small parallel hills. The drumlin country to the north of Coldstream gives a rollercoaster effect to any roads that go against the grain. Quite amusing on a folding bike.
