NZ0742 : Parallel walls, Saltersgate Lane
4 km from High Stoop, Durham, Great Britain

Parallel walls, Saltersgate Lane
Can anyone solve this mystery? Saltersgate Lane, of which this is the southernmost extension, is a 1.5 km straight road between widely spaced walls which isn't going anywhere obviously useful. There are many signs of a World War II military installation in the neighbourhood. Does this lane correspond with an old airstrip?
