Derby Castle horse tram terminus, Douglas, Isle of Man
This interesting 1972 photograph shows, on the left, the Strathallan Hotel, which was at one time the home of the managing director of the Manx Electric Railway; next from the left, the large open iron shed (later demolished) which served as the horse tram terminus, with car 45 loaded with passengers and awaiting its horse. Behind is the then-new Summerland building, which was to burn down with tragic consequences only a year later; and, on the right, Manx Electric cars for Ramsey, with a goods van at the end of the line.
