SD1878 : White Rock Beach at Hodbarrow Point

taken 11 years ago, near to Haverigg, Cumbria, England

White Rock Beach at Hodbarrow Point
White Rock Beach at Hodbarrow Point
View across the small sandy beach to Hodbarrow Point from the sea wall and the Cumbria Coastal Way on the RSPB Hodbarrow nature reserve. There are some interesting geological faults in the vicinity of Hodbarrow Point. The Duddon Estuary is just visible in the distance.
Eider ducks can often be seen on this stretch of water. Seals from Walney island can sometimes be seen basking on the sand banks at low tide.
