NC1444 : Detail of a Scourie DykeAnne is absolutely correct in her assertion that the dyke of quartz-dolerite was injected into an existing rock mass. The evidence provided by the pale tongue of rock, however, would not on its own support that conclusion as had pale rock been injected into the darker rock, it is equally possible that part of it could have found its way into a weakness in the dolerite, producing the same effect.
