SJ3489 : Albert Dock

taken 13 years ago, near to Birkenhead, Wirral, Great Britain

Albert Dock
Albert Dock
Note two historical steam ships - Challenge and Kerne.
Albert Dock is an absolute triumph of adaptive reuse and could have been lost completely as for many years it was derelict and isolated. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the enlightened people who saved it and turned it into a major tourist attraction while retaining some historical integrity.
