Charles Anderson Mural in Port Glasgow town hall
Charles Anderson Mural in Port Glasgow town hall
Once destined for a skip, this eight feet tall mural was rescued from a local building society by a former town hall keeper who recognised its worth. Made from coloured extruded resins on board, it depicts local Port Glasgow scenes in the 1970s, including a ship and the Bay Street tower blocks in addition to pound signs and a Horn Of Plenty (cornucopia).

In August 2015 it was discovered through geograph that the work is by renowned Scottish mural designer and sculptor Charles Anderson, as is another which also hangs in the Town Hall NS3274 : Charles Anderson Mural in Port Glasgow town hall.

Charles Anderson's many public works can be found in several towns around Central Scotland and beyond. This LinkExternal link to the artist's web site provides more details.
