TR0268 : Drain by Capel Fleet

taken 11 years ago, near to Leysdown-on-Sea, Kent, Great Britain

Drain by Capel Fleet
Drain by Capel Fleet
This is the drain from which water is pumped into Capel Fleet - see LinkExternal link LinkExternal link LinkExternal link
It seems there is the broad channel (here choked with reeds) known as Capel Fleet with a drain either side running parallel. Seems an odd arrangement but doubtless there is a good reason for it.
Capel Fleet was the channel which separated the Isle of Harty from mainland Sheppey in days gone by.
