Dartmouth Road, Three Beaches, towards Churston
Dartmouth Road, Three Beaches, towards Churston
This road shortly becomes dual carriageway as it rises up the hill towards Churston and Brixham. Driven through the rock hillside in the late 60s, it illustrates the then prevailing mania: cars and roads must be worshipped and dual carriageways were de riguer. Now our society has seen sense, only buses and bicycles may use nearside lane on each side, the speed restriction is 30 mph. Many unobservant, careless or reckless motorists still disregard these restrictions and put the lives of cyclists at risk.
