Broun Aisle at Humbie Church
Broun Aisle at Humbie Church
The Broun Aisle was built in cream sandstone in 1864 and is located by the west gate of Humbie Church. A dedication panel is above the arch doorway. It was erected by Archibald Broun of Johnstonburn "in lieu of the burial place of his family
within the church, which in deference to the feelings of the parishioners, he has now closed". Humbie Church itself was built in 1800 in the ox bow of Humbie Burn, on the site of earlier church.
