Maenhir Pentrefelin Standing Stone
Maenhir Pentrefelin Standing Stone
Unusually situated on the pavement beside the A497 in the middle of the village, the stone is about 3.5 metres high. It bears a later carving of a simple cross and the date 1721. There are two local explanations of the stone: one is that it is prehistoric; the other is that a local farmhand brought it home on his way back from the pub, but his mother, refusing to have it in the house, told him to get rid of it somewhere!
