Souter Lighthouse, Nr Sunderland
Souter Lighthouse, Nr Sunderland
This lighthouse, now in the control of the National Trust, has a reconstruction of a lighthouse keepers cottage. The lamp room on top of the lighthouse is accessible by some very steep steps. This was the first purpose built lighthouse in the world to be powered by electricity.
