Reclaimed quarry waste
Castle Cement have an extensive reclamation programme in the worked out quarries around Ketton, working with the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust to conserve the unique limestone grassland habitat around the industrial site. This spoil heap has been seeded with a wild plant mix and planted with a variety of trees. The Ketton Cement works in SK9805 are on the horizon.
